Absolute measurements of the cosmic-background radiation at low frequencies

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

The search for distortions in the spectral distribution of the cosmicbackground radiation is a potential source of information about the process of energy injections which accompanied the evolution of our Universe fromZ = 106 to the present epoch. In spite of theoretical expectations, so far no definite distortion has been detected. We present a program of new observations at frequencies near and below 1 GHz, where strong distortions are, in principle, possible.
