On weak links fed with irreversible currents

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

We briefly discuss the usual time-reversible descriptions for displacement- and real-current-fed small-capacitance weak links. Many real laboratory current sources deliver charge in an intrinsically irreversible fashion. We propose a phenomenological description of a weak link fed by such a source, and contrast its behaviour with the reversible picture, using a simple example.
