Summary
A supersymmetry based on the supergroupU 6/2 may be useful in describing the properties of the observed baryonic states, belonging to an even parity, composed of three quarks and an appropriate number of gluons. The bosons and fermions in the fundamental representation ofU 6/2 are the low-lying collective (bosonic) and single-particle (fermionic) degrees of freedom of the composites in baryons in the analogue of theU 6/4 model for nuclei in the Os-Pt region, first proposed byBalantekin,Bars andIachello. The observed mass spectra for N-Δ and Λ-σ baryons are explained at least semi-quantitatively by the proposed model.
