Summary

By using the solution of Adler and Das for Maxwell's equations in a Reissner-Nordström optimally charged background metric, the field of a static electric dipole is found and then, by a duality rotation, we find the field of a static magnetic dipole. A generalization of the concept of electric-dipole moment is proposed for static dipoles in curved manifolds, and the behaviour of the fields both for the dipole very near and very far from the singular surface of the Reissner-Nordström geometry is studied.

Usando la soluzione di Adler e Das per le equazioni di Maxwell in una metrica di fondo carica in modo ottimale di Reissner-Nordström, si trova il campo di un dipolo elettrico statico e quindi con una rotazione di dualità si trova il campo di un dipolo magnetico statico. Si propone una generalizzazione del concetto di momento del dipolo elettrico per dipoli statici in molteplicità curve, e si studia il comportamento dei campi sia per il dipolo molto vicino che per quello molto lontano dalla superficie singolare della geometria di Reissner-Nordström.
