The total ππ cross-section and the width of the forward diffraction peak at high energy

Summary

We investigate the ππ scattering at low-momentum transfers, in order to understand diffraction scattering. High-energy effects at low-momentum transfers are automatically included by solving the integral equations with the short-range potential in addition to the long-range potential. Dynamical predictions are made on the magnitude of the total cross-section and the width of the forward diffraction peak, starting from a knowledge of the low-energy resonance parameters.
