Echo in a semi-bounded plasma with boundary defined by electrostatic-potential profiles

Summary

An investigation of the second-order spatial echo in a semi-bounded plasma is carried on with different models of electrostatic sheath potential profiles. A general expression for the echo field is obtained and considered in two particular cases of realistic potential profiles.

Si analizza, per un plasma di Vlasov semiinfinito, la dipendenza del segnale di eco spaziale dal profilo di potenziale elettrostatico al bordo. Si ricava un'espressione generale per il campo elettrico di eco e si applica a due casi particolari realistici.
