Shock observations in a continuous supersonic plasma wind tunnel

Summary

A description is presented of aQ-device modified into a magnetic de Laval nozzle. A comparison is given between experimental results on a supersonic plasma flow striking a material object and a simple adiabatic theory. Suggestions are added for improvements of the experimental set-up.
