On Eckart’s approach to the hydrodynamic evolution of oceans and atmosphere

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

In this note we first describe Eckart’s formulation of the fluidodynamics of oceans and atmosphere. We then analyse the mathematical structure of the problem and show that there is a unique solution of the evolution equations for a system with rigid boundary or without any boundary. We then describe a constructive method to determine the solutions.
