Quantum effects in the Bertotti-Robinson space-time

Summary

We study the Klein effect in the Bertotti-Robinson back-ground geometry. We find the Schwinger formula for pair production, starting from the Klein-Gordon equation and by treating it with the WKB approximation. Typical general-relativistic features are discussed. Analogies with other geometries are suggested.

Si studia l’effetto Klein nella geometria di Bertotti-Robinson. Si ricava la formula di Schwinger per la produzione di coppie, partendo dall’equazione di Klein-Gordon e trattandola col metodo WKB. Si discutono tipici effetti relativistici generali. Si offre lo spunto di analogie con altre geometrie.

Мы исследуем эффект Клейна в геометрии Бертотти-Робинснна. Мы получаем формулу Швингера для рождения пар, исходя из уравнения Клейна-Гордона и используя ВКБ-приближение. Обсуждаются типичные эффекты общей теории относительности. Отмечаются аналогии с другими геометриями.
