Extended X-ray absorption fine structure and theL α andL β satellites of rhenium

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

Recently available data for the EXAFS at theL 3-edge of rhenium metal have been used to account for the origin ofL α andL β satellites on the basis of Hayasi’s theory. The calculated wave-lengths for the satellites are in good agreement with the experimental results and are compared with the values calculated from multiple-ionization theory. The present study reveals that the plasmon level behaves like a quasi-stationary state in the emission of the satellites.
