Summary
We have worked out a new experimental apparatus for the mechanical detection of paramagnetic dispersion. This technique is particularly suitable for the detection of resonances in which the relaxation time is very large, as in the NMR. In fact, the dispersion signal, whenγ 2 H 21 T 1 T 2≫1, increases linearly with the oscillating fieldH 1, whereas the absorption signal approaches an asymptotic constant value.
