Goéry Delacôte (France) A graduate of theEcole normale supérieure (Paris) and Doctor of Science (solid-state physics), this well-known scientist has been concerned with science education since the start of his career. In 1979, he set up the team whose task it was to create the ‘Science City’ at La Villette (Paris), the science and technology museum which opened in 1986. From 1982 to 1991 he served as Director of the Division of Scientific and Technological Information at theCentre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), where he set up the INIST Group. Professor of physics at the University of Paris, he is currently Director of the Exploratorium in San Francisco. He is the author ofSavoir apprendre (1996).
