Summary
By means of the connection between the Kowalski-Noyes representation and the Weinberg expansion of the two-body off-shellt-matrix, the slow convergence of the latter eigenfunction expansion at positive energies, even at resonances, can be explained in a natural way on the basis of earlier published results. It is also shown that this expansion is not necessarily term-by-term quasi-unitary. Based on these facts, the conclusion is drawn that the most suitable eigenfunction expansion at positive energies seems to be theK-matrix expansion, provided it is used in aK-matrix approach to the three-body scattering problem.
