Álvaro Marchesi (Spain) Professor of developmental psychology and education at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Mr Marchesi’s research has focused on the problems of language in infancy, the quality of education and educational reform. He worked for thirteen years, until 1996, at the Spanish Ministry of Education. Initially head of the programme for the integration of pupils with special needs, he was subsequently involved in the design and implementation of the educational reform plan approved in 1990.
