The nomenclature and taxonomy of the colobine monkeys of Java

Abstract

The current terminology for the colobine monkeys of Java is incorrect. The appropriate term for the West Javan surili is Presbytis comataDesmarest,1822, and that for the Javan and Bali/Lombok lutung is Trachypithecus auratusE. Geoffroy St. Hilaire, 1812.
