Symanzik’s local effective Lagrangian for SLAC lattice QCD

Summary

We consider, in the context of SLAC lattice QCD, the concept of the local effective Lagrangian introduced by Symanzik in his improvement program for lattice quantum field theory. We reemphasize that the respective local effective Lagrangian adds effective large-distance interactions to the local continuum QCD Lagrangian. Some applications of these interactions are discussed.
