Summary
The problem of pairing vibrations in normal systems is approached by the theory of finite Fermi systems. In particular, the part of the effective scattering amplitude which is best suited to treat the pairing vibrations is evaluated. A nonlocal form of residual interaction, which is very close to the usual pairing interaction, is obtained. The comparison with theory and experiment for the nuclei of the40Ca region turns out to be quite satisfactory.
