Summary
Recent experimental data indicate that the vector contribution to the decay Σ− → Λ+e−+\(\bar \nu \) e is not zero. This can be readily explained within the framework of the conserved vector-current hypothesis if isospin mixing between the Σ0 and Λ occurs in an amount corresponding to a mixing angleϑ=(0.14±0.07) radians.
