Summary
From the only hypothesis that space-time is homogeneous, isotropic and has a (constant) curvature different from zero, we can deduce, in the flat-space limit, the wave equation of a nonrelativistic spin-s particle. We find that such a particle is described by a spinor of at least 6s + 1 components, of which 2s + 1 independent. If we introduce an external electromagnetic field by a minimal substitution, we find that the particle possesses only electric-monopole and magnetic-dipole moments. The magnetic-dipoleg-factor depends on the number of spinor components and in a minimal theory (6s + 1 components) is I/s.
