Summary
A hard-core potential is introduced in addition to the usual Yukawian potential in order to obtain the analytic continuation of theS-matrix in the left half-plane. The Watson transform cannot be simply performed because of the existence of an essential singularity at infinity. However, using the relation between the two kinds of Legendre functions this difficulty is avoided and besides the « pole-sum » of the Regge terms one obtains an integral which can be evaluated by the « steepest descent method ». The nature of the singularity inR=0 (R=the radius of the hard core) is studied. One obtains the position of the first poles and the corresponding residues in the case of weak potentials.
