Pancreatic mass as presentation form of relapsing non-small cell lung carcinoma

Abstract

Non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the first cause of cancer death in Spain. This elevated figures are related with the advanced disease stage at the time of diagnosis (80% of the patients). Metastases of this tumor are frequent, specially in central nervous system (CNS) and thoracic lymph nodes.

Pancreatic metastases of a lung carcinoma are rare, and when it ocurrs, in 80%–90% of all cases concerns to small cell lung cancer.

Even more unusual is the presence of pancreatic metastasis of a lung cancer with no evidence of disease at any other level and no pancreatic symptoms.
