Can the conformal phase gauge field couple to the complex scalar field?

Summary

For the conformal-phase transformation associated with the complex conformal group that changes the metric spinor, while keeping the metric tensor unchanged, it is shown that the associated gauge field does not interact with any neutral complex scalar fields, but universally couples to all charged complex scalar fields. We identify this gauge field with the electromagnetic field. Our approach is free from the criticism previously made against Weyl’s conformal geometry.
