Summary
Heavy-quarkonium spectroscopy is discussed in the non-relativistic quark model for a hybrid potential which is Coulomb plus square-root (ur 2−v)1/2 suggested by string theory at long distance and Coulomb plus harmonic at short distance. The predictons for the e+e− decay widths of the c\(\overline c \) and b\(\overline b \) bound states are also given. Our results for the energy levels and the leptonic decay widths are in very good agreement with the experimental data for b\(\overline b \) and reasonable for c\(\overline c \) with almost the same values ofa s (c\(\overline c \)) anda s(b\(\overline b \)).
