Summary
A general method is given for studying photoabsorption sum rules in the constituent-quark model with relativistic corrections. Kinematic or recoil contributions are properly taken into account. The model gives the standard expression for theσ −2 sum rule. Numerically relevant corrections are obtained for theσ E10 (TRK) sum rule.
