Summary
The ratios of theE 2 transition probabilities from the 2+ state of theγ-vibrational band to the 2+ and 0+ states of the groundstate rotational band in the rare-earth and actinide regions of the even-even nuclei are estimated using the asymmetric rotor model of Davydov and Rostovsky. The known experimentalB(E 2, 2+′→2+)/B(E 2, 2+′→0+) values for the above regions are compared with the theoretical estimates. It is observed that this model explains satisfactorily all the known experimental data except those of the platinum nuclei. An explanation for the disagreement in the platinum nuclei is given.
