Classical particles with unusual properties

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

In addition to the ordinary subluminal particles (bradyons) and to the superluminal particles (tachyons), it seems to be possible to conceive the existence of other kinds of particles in the framework of classical special-relativity mechanics. They are neither bradyons nor tachyons in the usual sense of these words. The ones considered here are characterized by the assumption that their four-momentum is orthogonal to the four-velocity. Some of the kinematical and dynamical properties of these particles are discussed.
