Summary
Consequences of cut-corrected exchange degeneracy are examined in the context of a model in which exchange-degenerate poles satisfying factorization andSU 3 are « corrected » by multiple-scattering « unitarity » cuts. Satisfactory agreement with the unequal KN and KN CEX cross-sections is obtained above 2 GeV/c for moderatet-values. RR cuts, fixed by the pole terms, are essential. It is shown that, contrary to recent contentions, the energy dependence of the cross-section difference is easily accommodated in this cut scheme.

A small reduction in RR contributions would favor a nonflipd/f ratio in keeping with that obtained in the total cross-section Regge fits of ref. (21). (d/f ≈ − 0.5).
