Summary
The behaviours of small perturbation around the Kaluza-Klein metric in the five-dimensional space-time are investigated. The solutions to the coupled equations for the amplitude of the metric perturbation for the five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein space-time are obtained. Odd- and even-parity perturbations propagate in the five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein space-time provided that the perturbations are constants in the fifth direction. The small perturbations are identified with gravitational waves.
