Cosmic strings and intermediate scale structure of the universe

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

The paper suggests two possible explanations of the observed decrease in the average number density of galaxies with increasing distancer from the observer. Both are based on the fact that the invariant volume of space around and within a straight cosmic-string bundle increases more slowly withr than in Minkowski space.
