Spectrographic method for studying the cosmic-ray variations in the medium- and high-energy ranges in case of underground observations

Summary

A solution has been obtained for a set of nonlinear equations relating the observed cosmic-ray variations δI/I to the variations in the primary spectrum δD/D and to the geomagnetic threshold δR c when the ground and mountain observations are supplemented with measurements of the variations at the various depths, underground. It has been shown that in this case the effectiveness of the spectrography method may be subtantially increased, and the variations of interplanetary origin may be safely determined in the high-energy range (≳20 GeV).

Si è ottenuta una soluzione per un sistema di equazioni non lineari che mettono in relazione le variazioni osservate dei raggi cosmici δI/I con le variazioni nello spettro primario δD/D e la soglia geomagnetica δR c , quando le osservazioni al suolo e in quota sono completate con misurazioni a varie profondità nel sottosuolo. Si è mostrato che in questo caso l’efficienza del metodo spettrografico può essere sostanzialmente aumentata, e le variazioni di origine interplanetaria possono essere determinate liberamente in un intervallo di energia elevato (≳20 GeV).

Получено решение системы нелинейных уравнений, связывающих наблюдаемые вариации космических лучей δI/I с вариациями в первичном спектре δD/D и геомагнитным порогом δR c , когда наземные и горные наблюдения дополняются измерениями указанных вариаций на различных глубинах под землей. Показано, что в этом случае эффективность спектрографического метода может быть существенно увеличена и вариации межпланетного происхождения могут быть надежно определены в области высоких энергий (≳20 ГэВ).
