On the self-interaction in classical electrodynamics

Summary

It is shown that the self-interaction which causes divergences may be removed in the Lagrangian density by keeping the electromagnetic field in its totality. The results obtained are equivalent to those of Schönberg, Gupta and Rohrlich.
