Perturbative approach to some one-dimensional many-body problems

Summary

This paper is the second of a series devoted to a comparison among the results provided by the more common approximate many-body techniques. Here we apply the Brueckner approach to evaluate the ground-state energy of the Sutherland model. We find that this approach gives fairly good results always better than those obtained in the previous paper by the Rayleigh-Schrödinger perturbation theory.

Questo lavoro è il secondo di una serie dedicata ad un confronto tra i risultati che si ottengono dalle tecniche approssimate più frequentemente usate nella trattazione dei problemi a molti corpi. Qui si applica il metodo di Brueckner per calcolare l’energia dello stato fondamentale del modello di Sutherland. Questo metodo dà buoni risultati, migliori di quelli ottenuti nel precedente lavoro applicando la teoria perturbativa di Rayleigh-Schrödinger.
