Nonuniqueness of solutions in quantum field theory

Summary

The Hamiltonians of a class of models in quantum field theory are shown to be symmetric operators with deficiency index (1, 1). It follows that an infinite number of dynamical evolutions are possible. The connection between global methods of calculation and perturbation theory is studied for these models.

Si dimostra che le hamiltoniane di una classe di modelli nella teoria quantistica dei campi sono operatori simmetrici con indice di deficienza (1,1). Ne segue che è possibile un numero infinito di evoluzioni dinamiche. Per questi modelli si studia la connessione fra i metodi globali di calcolo e la teoria delle perturbazioni.
