Summary

We formulate a Reggeized absorption model for any two-body reaction involving particles of arbitrary spins, with particular attention on the factorization property. The absorptive correction is enhanced to account for diffractive dissociations. Using this model, we achieve a phenomenological analysis of πN, KN, KN,NN andNN reactions. In order to test the compatibility of the exchange-degeneracy assumption, two independent sets of fits are proposed: one with independent Regge trajectories, the other with degenerate trajectories and residues. In both cases, the agreement with the experimental data is qualitatively good.

  11. Reactions 1) up to 7) have already been treated in paper with the same kind of a model. However use was made of a specific form for the Regge-typet-channel amplitudes valid for 0 + 1/2+ → 0 + 1/2+ reactions only. It was therefore almost hopeless to extract from these results any kind of information on the vertex functions as defined in Subsect. 1.4. We have thus been forced to study these reactions again with our present model which applies as well to any kind of two-body reactions.
