Summary
The cross-field diffusion coefficient in the plasma edge of TBR, a small research tokamak with large magnetic-field ripples, has been evaluated from the time evolution of the density profile in the shadow of the limiter. The diffusion appears to be closer to that predicted by the effect of ripples rather than to either collisional (Pfirsh-Schluter) or turbulent (Bohm).

Il coefficiente di diffusione del campo incrociato nel bordo del plasma del TBR, un piccolo tokamak di ricerca con grandi striscie di campo magnetico, è stato calcolato dall'evoluzione nel tempo del profilo di densità nell'ombra del limitatore. La diffusione appare essere piú vicina a quella prevista dall'effetto delle striscie, piuttosto che all'effetto collisionale (Pfirsh-Schluter) o turbolento (Bohm).
