Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic multisystem disorder characterized by the presence of distinctive antinuclear antibodies. In a subset of these patients designated as ‘anti-nuclear antibody-negative systemic lupus erythematosus’ these antibodies are absent. We report a young girl with antinuclear antibody-negative systemic lupus erythematosus and discuss its characteristics and differences with antinuclear antibody-positive systemic lupus erythematosus.
