An impact-parameter representation for all scattering angles

Summary

An impact-parameter representation of the potential scattering amplitude, valid over the whole range of scattering angles is derived. Its high-energy limit is then investigated for a potential which depends linearly on the c.m. momentum. The convergence of the general formula to the usual Glauber expression at vanishing scattering angles is demonstrated, and a method for deriving finite-energy corrections to the scattering amplitude is presented.

Si deduce una rappresentazione dell’ampiezza dello scattering di potenziale col parametro di impatto, valida su tutto il campo degli angoli di scattering. Si studia poi il suo limite di alta energia per un potenziale che dipende linearmente dall’impulso del centro di massa. Si dimostra la convergenza della formula generale all’usuale espressione di Glauber per angoli di scattering tendenti a zero, e si presenta un metodo per dedurre correzioni di energia finita all’ampiezza di scattering.
