Parity projection in spherical nuclei

  • Published:

An Erratum to this article was published on 01 March 1972

Summary

The method of projecting a good quantum number before doing a variational calculation is applied to the problem of finding parity mixing in single-particle nuclear orbitals. The unfavourable case of spherical nuclei, such as4He and16O, is considered, and the nonnegative results are discussed.
