On an interesting linkage between astrophysical and atomic variables in physics

Summary

A characteristic mass that we term the Thomson mass emerges from a very simple toy universe. The main postulate in deriving this mass is that the universe be self-shielding, that is possessing an optical depth of unity, for interactions between the charged Thomson particles by Thomson scattering.
