Summary
We consider a quark-parton model for the e+e− annihilation at high energies. Our analysis is based on the asymptotic properties of convergent Feynman diagrams. Unlike the uncorrelated jet model of Cabibboet al., the production of hadrons is supposed to be the result of the final-state interaction of a quark-antiquark pair. Despite this interaction, the total cross-section still behaves pointlike. Furthermore, the model predicts Bjorken scaling for the inclusive structure functions and a constant mean multiplicity. We also discuss the pion charge distribution, as well as the relative abundance of pions and kaons in the final state.
