Summary
Examination of the superposition of the Veneziano amplitude and satellite terms of sufficient generality to remove an arbitrary number of daughter resonances suggests a new model. The model has i) the same residue as the leading trajectory in the Veneziano amplitude, ii) forα(t)>−3/2 it gives Regge behavior in almost every direction in the complexs-plane, iii) when applied to π-π scattering, with two trajectories, it reproduces Weinberg’s scattering lengths.
