Effects of anisotropic scattering on the distribution of charged particles in an electric field

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

Starting from the set of integral equations describing transport of charged particles in anisotropically scattering media, exact analytical expressions for total density and electrical conductivity are derived in terms of the physical parameters characterizing charged-species—host-medium interaction. For a deeper physical insight into the combined effects of scattering anisotropy and external electric field, the detailed spectra of the charged-particle distribution, obtained by numerically solving the set of integral equations, are also given.

Riassunto

Partendo dalle equazioni integrali del trasporto di particelle cariche in un mezzo diffondente, in presenza di un campo elettrico esterno, la densità di particelle e la conducibilità elettrica sono determinate analiticamente in funzione dei parametri fisici che caratterizzano le interazioni di scattering e rimozione. Inoltre, per studiare gli effetti combinati dell’anisotropia dello scattering e del campo elettrico, le distribuzioni spettrali di densità e corrente sono calcolate numericamente.
