Summary

A two-level atomic system giving rise to single-pulse co-operative spontaneous emission (superfluorescence or superradiance) is considered. The most general adiabatic formula, reducing the expectation values of field observables and atom-field correlations to expectation values of atomic observables, is deduced. The effects of inhomogeneous broadening and finite temperature are analysed.

Riassunto

Si considera un sistema atomico a due livelli preparato in modo da dar luogo ad una emissione spontanea cooperativa (superfluorescenza o superradianza) caratterizzata da un singolo impulso. Si deduce la più generale formula adiabatica, che riduce i valori di aspettazione delle osservabili di campo e le correlazioni atomi-campo a valori di aspettazione di osservabili atomiche. Si analizza, l’effetto dell’allargamento inomogeneo e della temperature finita.

Рассматривается двухуровневая атомння система, котора я создает кооперативное спонтанное излучение в виде отделяного импуляса (суперфлуоре-сценция или суперсветимостб). Выводится наиболее общая адиабатическая формула, преобразующая ожидаемые значения для наблюдаемых поля и для корреляций между атомом и полем к ожидаемым значениям для атомных наблюдаемых. Анализируются эффекты неодородного уширения и конечной температуры.
