Summary
We report about a female patient after orthotopic liver transplantation suffering from pneumonia and sepsis caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa. Additionally to antibiotic therapy, our patient was treated with IgM-enriched immunoglobulin solution and fibronectin-enriched serum. Although the patient;s general condition was poor, sepsis and pneumonia were treated successfully while immunosuppressive therapy was modified, but not discontinued. We conclude that additional therapy with IgM-enriched immunoglobulin solution and fibronectin-enriched serum can contribute to the treatment of severe infections in immunosuppressed patients.
