Ideal gas in empty space

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

It is shown that an ideal gas in empty space is not recurrent in the sense of Poincaré and Zermelo. The generalized Liouville theorem is formulated in that case. The entropy production sign is estimated to be positive. Some possible consequences of the results obtained as those on the lying problem of statistical physics are briefly mentioned and some conjectures are made on the possible relevance of results to the possibility of new insights into quantum-mechanics principles.
