Summary
The possibility has been explored that restless pulsars feel disturbances emitted by a localized source in our galaxy. A statistical analysis of available data gives evidence in favour of such a notion. Taking into account current models of vortex unpinning in the crustal superfluid of neutron stars, we find quite possible that the pulsars act as detectors of bursts of gravitational waves emitted by another vibrating neutron star.
