Small-angle scattering and absorption of 3.0 GeV/c antiprotons in nuclear emulsion

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The eikonal approximation of the optical model is used to analyse the elastic and inelastic interactions of 3.0 GeV/c antiprotons in nuclear emulsion. The aim was to find the value of the real part of the nuclear scattering amplitude. The best fit with the experimental data was obtained with the following parameter values:R 0=1.57 fermi,W=22.4 MeV,V 0=2 MeV, yielding a ratio of the real to imaginary part of the scattering amplitude of 5%.
