This is the third in a series of articles on the history of the audiovisual communication movement. The first two papers, “Historical Overview of Audio-Visual Communication” and “History of AV Education in City School Systems”, appeared in the Spring of 1954 and Spring 1955 issues. Paul Saettler is assistant professor of education, Sacramento State College, California. The study from which this paper is drawn was completed for the PhD degree at the University of Southern California.
