Studies on the application of salts of complex ions to the microscopic detection of anions

V. Nitropentamminocobaltic chloride (xanthocobaltic chloride)

Summary

The following anions gave characteristic crystalline reaction products with the xanthocobaltic chloride: bifluoride, chromate, dithionate, oxalate, phosphomolybdate, tartrate and thiosulfate. The crystals obtained with bifluoride, chromate, dithionate and oxalate ions are sufficiently characteristic to be useful for the detection and identification of these anions.
