The relativistic problem of the right-angled lever: The correctness of the Laue solution

Summary

The Laue and Arzeliès solutions of the relativistic stressed right-angled lever are reviewed. The Arzeliès solution is shown to be wrong, since it both denies the reality of the stresses arising from the Lorentz contraction and applies simultaneity incorrectly. We conclude that the Laue solution with transverse momentum and energy flow is indeed correct.

Riassunto

Si esaminano le soluzioni di Laue ed Arzeliès al problema relativistico della leva ad angolo retto sottoposta a sforzo. Si dimostra che la soluzione di Arzeliès è sbagliata poiché contemporaneamente nega la realtà delle tensioni derivanti dalla contrazione di Lorentz e applica la simultaneità incorrettamente. Si conclude che la soluzione di Laue con quantità di moto trasversale e flusso di energia è corretta.

Заново рассматриваются рещения Лауз и Арэелизса для релятивистского нагруженного прямоугольного рычага. Покаэывается, что рещение Арэелизса являестя неправильным, так как оно отрицает реальность напряжений, воэникаюших эа счет сокрашения Лорентца, а также некорректно учитывает одновременность. Мы устанавливаем, что рещение Лауз с поперечным импульсом и потоком знергии окаэывается, в действительности, правильным.
